About
What is BACPAR?
The British Association of Chartered Physiotherapists in Amputee Rehabilitation ‘does what it says on the tin.’ It is an association of physios (and others!) who want to improve the care of amputees.
It does this in many ways, including;
- researching and publishing guidelines for care,
- organising regular study days (at a regional and national level),
- and in association with the University of Bradford, plans and delivers a Post-graduate Certificate in Amputee Rehabilitation (Masters Level) – as part of the Masters in Rehabilitation Programme – for Physiotherapists, Prosthetists, Orthotists, Occupational Therapists and Nurses working in the specialised field.
What is this wordpress site?
It’s a way of;
- publicising North West Bacpar events (usually twice a year, held in South Manchester)
- publicising other events of interests to phsyios in the Northwest with an interest in Amputee rehabilitation
- extolling the manifold and manifest benefits of BACPAR membership
What this site is NOT
- An attempt to replace or supplement the superb Chartered Society of Phsyiotherapy “iCSP site” or BACPAR site
- a place to seek or give clinical advice. There is an active and detailed BACPAR discussion group on the iCSP site for that!
